Dr Woodgate is a Perinatal, Infant, Child and Family Psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of New South Wales in 2002 and has worked in mental health in Australia and the United Kingdom for more than 20 years.
Dr Woodgate has a special interest in Infant Mental Health and sees families during pre-conception, throughout pregnancy and in the early years of a child's life. She enjoys supporting young families to thrive together and is passionate about the importance of the first 2000 days of a child's life, intervening early to improve parental mental health, strengthening parent confidence and capacity, and scaffolding parent-child relationships.
Dr Woodgate moved to the Sunshine Coast with her family 5 years ago. She currently consults from Sycamore Health rooms. She was raised in Queensland and has returned to be closer to extended family. Her previous experience includes Perinatal Infant Early Childhood Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Karitane in Sydney, NSW. Her broader work includes experience in developmental disabilities, assertive outreach for children and families, child protection and attachment trauma.
Dr Woodgate favours a holistic, individualised and collaborative approach to your care. She enjoys working together with your team of professionals and believes that proactive, clear communication is vital to the wellbeing of families.
Dr Woodgate is an experienced educator and supervisor. She is an accredited supervisor for RANZCP trainees and enjoys supervising clinicians from a variety of disciplines. She is also an accredited Circle of Security Parenting Group provider and trained in the Newborn Behavioural Observation System through Royal Woman's Hospital, Melbourne.
